Adventure into the forest

Transpantaneira Road, with 147km and 126 bridges connecting Poconé city to Porto Jofre, is a milestone in Pantanal. Before it, the only region's economical income was from cattle business and just a few adventurers from outside got in contact with pantaneiro's way of life.

Pantaneiro horses are docile and easily mounted even by kids or anyone who never did it before.

After Pantanal
a cool choice is a visit to Chapada dos Guimarães.

In the world's biggest wetland with 230.000km2 (139.000km2 in Brazil), seasons are divided in 6 months of drought (June to November) and 6 of rain (December to May).

The rides are by canoe, motorboat, horse and trekking. There is also the funny and easy piranha fishing and nocturnal wildlife safari by car.

Nowadays, many hotels work connected to the road, offering different choices to enjoy Pantanal's variated flora and fauna with 468 bird species (351 in Poconé region) and many different mammals, reptiles, amphibians and fish.

High season is during drought, when ponds and marshes keep large amounts of fish, crabs and snails attracting many different birds, reptiles and mammals.
